Description: J.S. Bach “Largo“ from the V Concerto in F Minor BWV 1056 composed in 1742. The “Largo“ is the second movement of the V Concerto for Harpsicord and Orchestra. Characterized by continous strings pizzicatos that structure the harmony and the rhythmic for the piano, surrounded by the pure lyricism of the theme. In the final cadence, the strings, like from a place unknown until now, switch from the pizzicato/ostinato to the arco legato, giving to the closure of the Largo an expressive and tragic sonorous substance not heard until that moment. The Largo probably derives from a lost oboe concert and was used by Bach himself also for the opening sinfonia of the cantata Ich steh mit einem Fuß im Grabe BWV 156” Good Listening

Description: Minute Composition for Piano and Orchestra. The structure consists of theme-development-theme. The main theme is entrusted to the piano with the use of a rhythmic counterpoint distributed among woodwinds, celesta and harp. In the follwing bars, the development articulates with the harmonic support of the strings that gradually trigger legato and espressivo phrases with a rythimic and intensive piano conterpoint, up to generate the cantabile agogic characterized by a strong late-romantic suggestion. The return of the opening theme in the coda is entrusted to the piano solo that turns the theme from the minor to the major tonality. Commissioned in 2016 for the spot of an Italian brand.
