Finding a Free Video Background Now

When choosing the right backgrounds for your video creation, it is important to know what format the website allows you to download in.  Whether you plan on using a free video background or one you must pay for, know whether or not your software will support the file format and actually play it.

Just as AudioMicro gives people the option of downloading royalty-free music in MP3, WAV, or AIFF format, there are several different formats available for videos.  Some of these types will only work on certain players, whereas others tend to be more universal.  Some types can even depend upon how old they are and whether or not the player will support them.  Older file types will not be recognized by some players and then you will find yourself stuck with a video you cannot use.  Even if it is a free video background, it is a frustrating situation.

Depending upon where you go—a free video background site or one that requires payment—file format is important.  Videos can be made in different ways, such as using Flash.  Quality can also become a factor here, depending upon who is making the video.  A few of the most common file extensions for videos are AVI, MPG, SWF, and WMV.  There are also many others, some of which only want to function on their respective player, such as RealPlayer or Quicktime. If you plan to incorporate sound effects into your presentation, you’ll want to take that into account as well.

You video delivery method will depend upon these things.  If you do have a quality software program that allows you to edit any free video background you get, then you may be able to switch the extension to one more suitable.  Should you plan on showing your project to many people, choosing a popular file type is key.  This way more people will be able to enjoy your creation without the need to download new players or patches.
