roy zu-arets, composer, pianist and producer, is one of israel's most acclaimed musicians. he has composed music for film, television, and theatrical productions, and his work ranges from classical compositions to original chart topping songs. roy moved to new york city in 1996 to study composition at the juilliard school, as well as at the mannes college of music. one of the films he scored in new york went on to win best film at the 2003 new york independent film festival. roy has worked with and written for many artists, from gold recording artists taking back sunday, to drummer omar hakim, to legendary israeli singers david broza, rita and kaveret. roy moved to los angeles in 2005, and has spent his time writing music for film and television. his latest projects include the original score for '1906' , a documentary feature film about the 1906 earthquake in san francisco (world premiered, san francisco, dec 2007) and 'macheads the movie', a documentary about fans of apple technology (world premiere tbd; http://www.macheadsthemovie.com/)
