Bio:

guy zerafa was born in 1959 in toronto and is married with three children. although based in toronto, he frequently works in hong kong, bulgaria, los angeles and vancouver. guy zerafa studied classical guitar at the royal conservatory of music, flamenco guitar at the eli kassner guitar academy and renaissance lute with terry mckenna. he has had a long career as a performer and songwriter with numerous musical artists and recorded many top 10 songs and albums. he has recorded and toured with national and international artists from baroque folk band to progressive rock and pop bands all over the world until he turned his focus to film composition as a natural expression of his interest in various musical styles. composing music for film opened the door to what has become his passion for world music and their instruments.

after a two year foray writing music for television advertising with rosnick mackinnon webster followed by the einstein brothers with commercials including those for american express coke, ford, toyota and many others , he moved into film and television exclusively with his own production company zerafa music inc. his music has been heard on every major network worldwide.

guy zerafa was nominated and won 'best dramatic score' for the leo awards with his score for 'a feeling called glory', nominated with his associate dave klotz, 'best dramatic score' for the 'golden horse awards (the asian academy awards) with their score for 'eye in the sky', nominated with his associate dave klotz, 'best dramatic score' for the gemini awards with their score for 'iris chang: the rape of nanking'. their work on the film 'exiled' was included in hong kong's official entry as 'best foreign film' for the academy awards.
