Bio:

collin simon has been composing music for over 17 years from stage to films. he began writing for community theaters when he was 13, composed the music for his first documentary when he was 16, and his first film when he was 18. by the time collin was 20, he worked in a professional theater arranging, performing, and composing original musicals. after a stint writing for student shorts and independent films, some of which went to prestigious festivals such as cine vegas (2002), he began to work for various film companies. while with these companies he completed six feature length movies that have been released internationally to major video rental stores.

music flows from collin faster than he can write it down. he writes themes that glide with melody- even if that theme is harsh and tortured, the notes make people want to listen. his dream has always been to write music that affects people deeply and emotionally. each note he writes has a purpose; to excite, to terrify, to inspire, or even to make the listener laugh. no emotion is less important than the other, as no part of his composition is overlooked in bringing those emotions to life.

his love of writing music challenges him to continually learn and improve. collin has always worked on a budget to budget basis with no set fee, because it is the work that interests him. he is completely self contained with some of today's most advanced software samplers and sound libraries. when given the opportunity to compose, he does everything to fulfill the vision for the film. directors, editors, and producers alike say he is easy to work with and enjoys sharing and debating ideas while building strong relationships with the people involved with a project. collin prides himself in his ability to work quickly and calmly while never sacrificing originality or creativity. he is extremely versatile and able to produce an abundance of sounds and styles.

collin is currently listening to offers for music in a variety of different venues, always looking for a new way to use his music to try to give others the feelings he has had listening to the great composers that inspired him.
